Swerve Strickland has spilled the beans about AEW’s future
The future of AEW’s media rights has been a long-discussed topic, with no official announcement from AEW or WBD in regards to their future relationships, length of prospective deal, or further details, though the expectation is that something will be announced in the immediate future. There has also been talk of a new AEW show taking place on Fox under the banner of AEW: Shockwave, though again these are just reports at this stage in time.
Former AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland might have let the cat out of the bag early, as he stated to QueenzFlip that AEW is heading to Fox thanks to SmackDown leaving the network and heading over to USA Network.
“We’re about to move. We’re about to get on Fox. SmackDown is leaving Fox. And then we’re taking Fox…TNT, TBS, and Fox. We got all three of them things. Tony Khan lets me do whatever the f*** I want. He owns the Jacksonville Jaguars.”
Although nothing has been revealed as of yet, Tony Khan has hinted several times that AEW programming is set to remain on TNT and TBS for the foreseeable future.
